Trump refuses to commit to accepting election loss and repeats 2020 lies at Wisconsin rally
yesterday, Donald Trump had the day off from his trial in New York on charges related to falsifying business records and held a rally in Wisconsin, a swing state critical to his presidential chances. After a speech spent on attack Joe Biden on how he’s handling border security and inflation, Trump gave an interview to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, in which he falsely insisted he won Wisconsin in 2020 (he didn’t) and “other places,” and refused to commit to accepting the results of this year’s vote.
“If all is fair, I will gladly accept the results. I’m not changing that. If it is not, you must fight for the right of the country,” said the former president.
The comments were another indication that Americans should be prepared for dire election consequences if Trump loses in November to Biden. After the Democrat beat him in 2020, Trump spent weeks attempts at different plots to prevent Biden from taking power, culminating in the attack on the Capitol on January 6. Of course, there is a chance that Trump could actually win the election again, as he did in 2016 – the polls are currently pointing to tight race with Biden, including in Wisconsin.

“Violence is against the law. Destruction of property is not peaceful protest. This is against the law. Vandalism, trespassing, window breaking, campus closings, forced cancellation of classes and degrees. None of this is peaceful protest. Threatening people, intimidating them, instilling fear in people is not a peaceful protest. It’s against the law.”

But the president was already 10 minutes late.
