A teenage driver suffered serious leg injuries when he wrapped a car around a pole near Brisbane on Tuesday evening.
The 18-year-old man was driving two passengers in a Toyota convertible on Grice St in Clontarf, in the Moreton Bay area, when he crashed at around 9pm.
The P-plate was “heavily wedged” in the car when emergency services arrived, according to the Queensland Ambulance Service.
It took about an hour to extricate him before paramedics treated him for multiple serious leg injuries, including fractures.
He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police are yet to determine whether the car was stolen and what caused the crash.
The two passengers were unharmed.
