When it comes to wellness, few people radiate health more than Elle McPherson.
Nicknamed “The Body” thanks to her incredible figure at 60, the supermodel is known for practicing what she preaches when it comes to staying fit.
Although she says she “survived on just four hours of sleep as a ’90s supermodel,” Elle is now much more committed to a good night’s rest.

Elle recently revealed the four secrets she swears by for a good night’s sleep in midlife with Best Picks.
The 60-year-old model and Welleco CEO also shared the products she swears by to look and feel her best.
1. Cut back on caffeine
Although many of us rely on our morning coffee, Elle says that if you want to sleep well, you need to be careful when it comes to caffeine consumption.
“I don’t drink coffee anymore, I prefer a gentle but strong wake-up call with a steaming hot matcha latte made with oat milk,” she told Best Picks.
“If I’ve been traveling or working late, I no longer wake up groggy unless my diet has been messed up, so the need for a quick fix isn’t as prevalent as it used to be.”
Elle also swears by her own Welleco Potion – super elixir ($88)which claims to be “the original all-in-one daily green powder that boosts energy, improves gut health and clears skin.”
The model either drinks it straight with water or mixed into a smoothie every day.
2. Aim for eight hours (the magic number)
Elle then said that she always aims for eight hours of sleep – as it’s the ‘magic number’.
“These days, I value sleep and make a conscious effort to make sure I get a quality eight hours,” she said.
“I believe that sleep is the primary wellness mechanism responsible for feeling and looking your best. It’s like a complete body reset with so many priceless benefits.
“Good sleep supports weight, emotional well-being, blood pressure, mental and physical stamina, your immune system, and more.”
Elle said her friend and fellow Welleco formulator Dr. Simone Laubscher says it best:
“She says, ‘Every day we accumulate and carry a toxic burden, and sleep is the key to allowing our nervous system to rest and detoxify.’
Elle revealed that Simone always tells her that five hours of sleep is the ‘tipping point’ for ill health and swears by seven to nine hours for a healthy immune system.
Elle has a new one Product Evening Elixir ($55) which she likes to drink before bed.
The antioxidant-rich elixir boosts your skin’s collagen and deeply repairs the skin from within, while promoting a good night’s rest.
3. Rest with intention
When it comes to bedtime, the model said it’s important to “rest with intention.”
She explained that she “loves bedtime” these days and gets really excited about getting into bed after a long day at work.
“Living with a musician has changed my sleeping hours, so no matter how late we go to bed (often 2am or 3am after gigs), we don’t have an alarm set until ten hours after we fall asleep,” she said.
“This gives us enough time to sleep and recover.
“My partner is a sleep expert who has been on the road most of his life. He has completely mastered the art of going to bed late and waking up late in the morning. I don’t make appointments before 11am when I travel and that’s a wise choice!”
4. Indulge in an evening routine
Finally, Elle revealed that you absolutely need to have a special evening routine if you want to get a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling truly restored.
“I like to eat around 5 p.m. so the body doesn’t digest the food right before bed,” she explained.
“I found that I don’t sleep best on a full stomach. I’m often out until later in the day, so by the time I get home I’m ready to start relaxing with an infrared sauna; Terezaria is a long-time favorite of mine and I like to do an hour if I can at about 170 degrees and a cold soak for about five minutes in the plunge bath.’
Elle swears by a ‘warm drink’ half an hour before bed – and it’s her go-to at the moment Evening Elixir ($55).
“The evening elixirhealth and beauty enhancing hot chocolate is my preferred luxury,” she said.
“I like to read at night or look at the stars, preferring to minimize screen time so as not to disrupt the circadian rhythm with blue light. I deliberately don’t have a TV in my room, but sometimes I wear blue glasses if I have to talk on the phone after sunset.’
She guards Skin Elixir ($65) on the bedside table, ready to take every morning.
