Cohen admits he wants to see Trump convicted
After much fiddling, Michael Cohen admits on the stand that he wants to see Donald Trump convicted in this case.
Trump attorney Todd Blanche asks:
You’ve also talked extensively about Mea Culpa, your desire to have President Trump convicted in this case, right?
“Sounds like something I would say,” Cohen said. “Yeah, probably.”
Blanche asks: Do you have any doubt? Cohen says no. Blanche asks:
So why exactly did you say yes probably.
Cohen said he wasn’t sure if he used those exact words.
Blanche keeps pushing him about it. “I’d like to see accountability … I’m just asking you yes or no, do you want to see President Trump convicted” in this case, Blanche pressed.
Cohen replies, “Sure.”

After initially resisting, Cohen admits it’s a lie. Blanche said:

Trump attorney Todd Blanch continues to crack down Michael Cohenconfidence in him, painting him as someone who saw a bit of himself in Donald Trump and was obsessed with the former president.
But Blanche’s approach was wide-ranging, jumping around a bit and hard to follow at times.
Cohen continues to remain calm and composed in his testimony.

Blanche goes on to ask about a statement Cohen made in 2017 where he talked about the fact that it was disappointing or that he was disappointed that he wasn’t able to spend more time with the Trump children or President Trump because of the investigation.
Cohen asked where that statement was made. He says:
I was advised that I could not speak to President Trump, but not to the family.

“There was no money in the world to make you write about his family?” Cohen responds, saying that sounds about right.

“And that all he wants is to make this country great again?” Cohen replies, “Sounds right.”
Blanche asks, “You weren’t lying at the time, were you?” Cohen says:
I was knee deep in the cult of Donald Trump at the time, yes.

The board was trying to get Trump’s name off the building, right?

Blanche asks Cohen how he made money with his taxi medallions. He said he won many of them. “You saw yourself back then, in the early 2000s, as a deal maker?” yes
Blanche questions Cohen about his work for other members of the Trump family. Cohen says:
I don’t believe I ever represented Eric, and I can’t recall if I ever represented Ivanka.
