“On arrival FRNSW crews found the bus fully alight and immediately set about fighting the fire. It took about 15 minutes to bring the fire under control,” the statement said.
The bus was also carrying 200 liters of diesel fuel, which necessitated a call to specialist FRNSW HAZMAT teams.
However, the fuels remained intact and as a result no local waterways were claimed to be contaminated.
The bus was pulled over and another transport was arranged for the children.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
