Louisville Metro Police have released a few more details about the fatal traffic accident early this morning. Their spokesman Dwight Mitchell told Louisville radio station WHAS that the man was crossing Shelbyville Road, which runs past Valhalla Golf Club, around 5am. The bus didn’t see him. Mitchell confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Scheffler’s indictment
According to ESPN, this is Scheffler’s list of criminal charges:

There are also unconfirmed reports that he has been released and is on his way to Valhalla.

ESPN reported that Scheffler passed a police officer in his SUV with door markings indicating it was a PGA Championship vehicle. The officer yelled at him to stop and then hung onto the car until Scheffler stopped 10 yards later.
ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington added, “Sheffler was then taken to the police car, put in the back, handcuffed, very stunned by what was happening, looked at me while he was in those handcuffs and said, ‘Please help me.’
“He obviously didn’t know what was going on in the situation. It was moving very fast, very fast, very aggressive.
It’s surreal and absurd. Kentucky traffic cops aren’t very smart.

The PGA has confirmed that all tee times have been moved back one hour and 20 minutes from the original schedule. 2002 champion Rich Beam will hit the first shot of the day at 13:35 BST.

That’s what a Kentucky cop told ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington in this taped conversation after Scheffler appeared to turn to Darlington and ask, “Can you help me?” Let’s face it, Scheffler will be lucky to make his first time, originally scheduled for 8.48am (1.48pm BST) but has since been delayed by the incident until 10.08am.
Scotty Scheffler is in police custody
Tragedy turned farce, with Scotty Scheffler being pulled over by police for trying to clear a traffic jam caused by the aforementioned fatal accident outside of Valhalla.
Scheffler was trying to get to the course to prepare for his round when he was held up. ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington, who witnessed the incident, said on air: “Traffic was held up and building up, Scotty Scheffler tried to get into Valhalla Golf A club using a side median, at which point a police officer instructs him to stop.
“Sheffler attempted to continue, then the officer hung onto the side of Scheffler’s car.
“Sheffler stopped the vehicle as it turned onto the Valhalla Golf Club at the entrance, about 10 to 20 yards from the point where the officer first told him to stop. At that point, the officer instructed Scheffler to get out of the car.
“He rolled down the window, the officer grabbed his arm and started pulling it. He reached inside, opened the car door, pulled Scheffler out, pushed him toward the car and immediately handcuffed him.
The game has been delayed due to a fatal accident
A tragic start to the day in Valhalla. The start of the second round was delayed after an incident in which a pedestrian died after being struck by a bus, according to the Louisville Police Department.
LMPD released a statement regarding the accident” “Around 5 am this morning, LMPD responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and a bus.
“Our preliminary investigation determined that an elderly male pedestrian was crossing Shelbyville Road from south to north when he was struck by a bus traveling eastbound in the mandatory center bus lane.
“As a result, the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The LMPD Traffic Division is investigating.
